Happy Valentines Day!
Valentine’s Day is celebrated every year on February 14,
honoring the Christian Saint Valentinus. In America, Britain, Canada and other
Western countries this day is seen as a cultural celebration of love and
romance. In America, it is tradition that people give each other Valentines
cards and gifts. If you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, you would typically
give them a Valentine’s Card with a romantic note inside, along with flowers,
chocolates, and of course, kisses! You can also give cards and gifts to your
close friends and family as a sign of affection. Symbols of Valentine’s Day are
red hearts, and we greet each other with “Happy Valentine’s Day” or “Will you
be my Valentine?”
In the American Corner, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with
the Children’s English Club. We first made cut outs of hearts and decorated our
American Corner with them to celebrate love and affection, and the children did
a wonderful job!

Then, we made Valentine’s Cards for people. The children
each made cards for their parents, siblings, and of course, the boy or girl
that they liked in school! It was difficult work, for the Valentines Cards
required a lot of effort and everyone worked hard in making their cards as
special as possible for their special someone.

Now that Valentine’s Day is upon us, those lucky people chosen will receive beautiful cards from our children! What better way to express your love with a special handmade card and beautiful notes!
Happy Valentines Day, and we wish you all love and happiness
in 2018!
